This award is a different one because it is not valued on the details given by the companies themselves. But Employees' Choice Awards are dependant on the anonymously provided feedback of the employees through a survey. The survey is sent only to the employees in the United States.
The final ranking of the top companies is decided by taking collective average ratings from the half-million employees who answered a 18 questions survey conducted from 24 November 2011 to 13 November 2012. The employees are asked to rate their vindication with their company overall and key workplace factors, including career opportunities, compensation and benefits, work-life balance, senior management, culture and values.
Choosing where to go work is one of the most stressful decisions a person can make, and it's natural for people to want more information so they can make better career decisions. Being recognized by employees as a 'BEST PLACE TO WORK' is not small achievement. The companies on the list are being honored as it's a reflection of their commitment to employees to create a positive and enjoyable workplace," says Glassdoor spokesperson Samantha Zupan.Facebook was the topper in the list with an overall rating of 4.7/5. This is second time it has been selected as the best company in the world. It received the highest rating in 2011, and was one of the top three in 2012 Employees Choice Award.
This comes as no wonder because Facebook gives its employees good gratuity, and benefits which help them to balance their work and personal life. It also gives free food, transportation,paid vacations, $ 4,000 for new parents, dry cleaning, day care restitution and photo processing. Not only this, the employees are very happy about their impact on billion people and the positiveness they have on their executive Mark Zuckerberg. The Facebooks' Vice-President of People and Recruiting said,
