6. LIMB THE DIAMOND ON LONGS PEAK, COLORADO:

The Colorado's famous fourteeners - about 54 peaks - are easy to climb. The east face's arduous, 2,000 foot hihg DIAMOND is a true, big mountain adventure that needs lot of boldness in climbing and the guts to sleep out in a portal-edge.

7.SWAMP TROMP IN BIG CYPRESS NATIONAL PRESERVE, FLORIDA.

The BIG in the Big Cypress is more about the sky and land than about the trees. You will have to walk through a calf-deep to knee-deep water on a 30 mile part of the 1,500 mile Florida Trail that cut through the reserve. You will find sandhill cranes, and egrets on the swamp and grosbeaks and cardinals on the higher grounds.

8. DIVE FRESH WATER CAVES, FLORIDA.

The salt water is not the centre of attraction for the divers. It is the hidden cave at the northwest corner of the state, with freshwater springs that flow through mazes of limestone passageways. Though the cave diving is filled with potential dangers, the good news is that after a good traning, it really depends on the little nerve to take the dive. But when done it is a wonderful place to witness the fossils, sunlight beaming in from holes in the cave ceilings, and even ancient mastodon tusks.

9. FLY-FISH FOR THE FLORIDA KEYS SLAM, FLORIDA.

There are good rewards given to those who catch the bonefish, permit, and tarpon. They are rewarded in separate categories as well as to those who catch all the three. This requires a little training. Bonefish is found in the mangroves flats and you got to take a single shot at the fish. Permit seems to be the toughest of the three and is found in deeper waters. Finally, the prehistoric tarpon is a test of finesse versus brawn.

10. CANOE OKEFENOKEE, GEORGIA.

The term BLACK WATER SWAMP immediately relates our mind to alligators, cottonmouth snakes, carnivorous plants, and getting lost in the dark tangles of vegetation. But this OKEFENOKEE is a different kind of black water. It has clear water, the canoe trails are well marked so we will not get lost easily, and the swamp is a broad open Prairie making the swamp open to the sky than keeping it in darkness.
