HIGHEST BRIDGES  in the world are ranked in accordance with their DECK HEIGHT. The deck height of a bridge is the ultimate perpendicular drop distance from the most elevated point of a bridge (top of the bridge tower), down to the nethermost conspicuous point of a bridge, where its pilaster originated from the ground.

     Until this millennium there was no bridge on earth to challenge the height record of  THE ROYAL GORGE suspension bridge in the US state of Colorado. The wood planked suspension bridge built in 1929, was the dictionary definition of a highest bridge. All its record was broken by  Ten highest bridges built from 2001 - 1010.

      Most of it came from CHINA.  The Chinese embarked on an "EXPLOSION OF BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION". Their speed of construction resulted in nearly 10,000 bridges in a year. It was mostly constructed in the western parts of China which is mainly covered by mountains. China is already home of almost half of the 100 tallest bridges in the world.
