FIRST MADE "BENZ PATENT MOTOR WAGON" - BY KARL BENZ

WHO INVENTED THE FIRST AUTOMOBILE?

There is no perfect answer to this question. The history of an automobile dates way back to the 15th century when LEONARDO DA VINCI formulated different models for transportation vehicles. There are different kinds of automobiles - steam, gas, electric_ but the true credit goes to KARL BENZ.
Born to an Engine driver in Karlsouche, Badan, Germany in the year 1844, Karl Benz was an intelligent student, finishing his Mechanical engineering in Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

THE FIRST EVER PATENT MOTOR WAGON:-

The first ever Patent Motor Car was designed by Karl Benz in 1885. It was a three wheeled motor wagon. On January 29th 1886 he took out the patent for his car. The NO. being 37435. This might as well be regarded as the BIRTH CERTIFICATE of an automobile. He showed the car to the public on July 23rd 1886 on RINGSTRASSE in MANNHEIM for the first time.

THE MAJOR FEATURES OF THE AUTOMOBILE:-

The wagon was a self propelled one, with a rear mounted single cylinder engine . It was a compact high-speed engine. It also had three wire spokes wheels. The engine had an output of .75 hp (0.55 kW). It also included an high-voltage electrical vibrator ignition with spark plug, controlled exhaust valve and thermo-siphon evaporation cooling. It was a gas-fueled car.
After years of testing and modifications, Benz created the first complete commercial vehicle. It was the MODEL - 3 automobile, with FOUR STROKE ENGINE, POWERED BY GASOLINE AND IT HAD FOUR WOODEN WHEELS.

THE FIRST LONG DISTANCE MOTOR WAGON TRAVELED:-

In 1888, BERTHA BENZ drove Motor Wagon to PFORZHEN, a distance of about 66 miles, without the knowledge of Karl Benz. This was the first long distance covered by the Motor Wagon. She refilled the gasoline from pharmacies and also invented the brake lining by asking a shoe maker to nail rubber to the brake blocks. She also suggested to Benz that he must add a gear to make climbing the hill slopes better. After making the necessary amendments, Karl introduced MODEL _ 3 at the 1889 WORLD FAIR in PARIS. It soon received recognition from around the world.

THE LOGO AND NAME OF THE CAR:-

In 1926, Karlz'z company BENZ & CIE  joined hands with DAILMER GROUP, due to financial crisis after WORLD WAR -I and became - DAIMLER - BENZ. The car was named MERCEDES-BENZ  after EMIL JELLINEK, the ten year old daughter of DAILMER MOTOREN GESELSCHAFT (DMG).
