HIROSHIMA BOMBING - 68th ANNIVERSARY 6/8/1945-2013

More than 50,000 people stood for a minute silence in Hiroshima's Peace Park, close to the very place where the bomb blast took place way back in August 6, 1945 killing about 1,40,000 people. The bomb shed-ed three days later on in Nagasaki killed ten thousand more people.

More than 200,000 survivors of the first blast known as HIBAKUSHA with an average age of 79, and many more attended the ceremony. They lighted incense sticks, paper lanterns and prayed for the people killed in the first atomic bomb blast.

As the only country in the whole world to have been attacked an ATOMIC BOMB, it is Japan's primary duty to completely wipe out nuclear weapons - said SHINZO ABE, the Prime Minister of Japan, who came down to attend the function.Hiroshima's Mayor, Kazumi Matsui made a simple pledge, calling Nuclear bombing as the 'ULTIMATE INHUMANE WEAPON AND AN ABSOLUTE EVIL." He also described the pain of the survivors only to be shunned as contaminated by the radiation.

There is already a lot of protests  in Japan about the restarting of the Nuclear Power Plant, which was shut down in 2011 after the tsunami. It damaged the reactors at a plant in Fukushima, causing meltdowns. More than 100,000 people are still fearing to go back to their place around the Power Plant.
